It was 2011 when I received a diagnosis that would forever alter my path: cancer, with a prognosis of merely 30 to 90 days to live. Against the 4% chance of survival odds, I fought, I survived, and I rebuilt. Then, in 2022, life threw another curveball – a severe back injury while at work, which was particularly ominous since my cancer had started at my spinal cord. The doctors' words echoed a familiar fear: "A time might come when you'll be in a wheelchair." I had fought cancer with a throw everything you have at it plan (surgery, chemo, radiation, an industrial level of supplements, prayer, self-medication), but this threat was more nuanced, more calculated in its way... "Get the surgery, and 1 in 3 you might be in a chair anyway, don't get it and it's a matter of time..." I focused on the risks and calculations. I didn't like the other options.
These two life-altering events profoundly shaped my approach to recovery and, ultimately, to fitness. I realized that my training couldn't be about pushing limits recklessly; it had to be about intelligent, sustainable progress. My focus became razor-sharp: how to achieve maximum results for my time and effort, while prioritizing safety above all else.
This personal imperative led me down a path of deep research and rigorous methodology. I immersed myself in evidence-based training principles, seeking out the most effective and safest techniques supported by scientific understanding. But I didn't stop there. I integrated principles inspired by Six Sigma methodology, a data-driven approach focused on minimizing errors and maximizing efficiency.
The result of this journey is Exigma Fitness & Training. Exigma is more than just a workout plan; it's a meticulously crafted system designed for individuals who demand both performance and longevity. Whether your passion is cycling or strength training, Exigma plans are built on the foundation of:
